About Steph

Stephanie Orma is an San Francisco-based travel, arts, and design writer. Along with being a Contributing Editor for California Home+Design Magazine, her musings on creative folks and drool-worthy destinations have appeared in Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Fast Company, Dwell, Print, ReadyMade, SF Weekly, 7×7 Magazine, HOW, Metropolis, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Magazine, Luxury Travel Magazine Australia, San Francisco Brides Magazine, Azure, Communication Arts, and Design Bureau, among others. Her sharp, snappy writing pops up in fun advertising campaigns too.

This designer-turned-writer’s creative work can also be spotted in bookstores and boutiques throughout the U.S. With ten years of design chops (and studies at Parsons School of Design, California College of the Arts, and Academy of Art), Steph has designed books for top-tier publishers and branding for start-ups to well-established institutions. She’s also illustrated, manufactured, and marketed an outrageously clever line of greeting cards and gifts, She’s SO Creative, sold in 200+ stores nationwide. In 2010, Steph was a featured guest on the SF radio program, Live From The Left Coast, discussing how typography impacts our everyday lives. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and furry son, Al (pictured above).
